Learning Objectives
At the end of this activity participants should be able to:
- Discuss the imaging and management of complex aortic pathologies such as Acute Aortic Dissection, Penetrating Aortic Ulcer, Intramedullary Hematoma, Aneurysmal Dilatation of Chronic Aortic Dissection.
- Explain the complex techniques used in the treatment of complex aortic dissection such as open surgical techniques, endovascular thoracic stent grafting, endovascular bare metal stenting, and septal fenestration of the dissection septum.
- Analyze the medical management of Aortic dissection in 2025 compared to previous years including discussion of Blood pressure management, and surveillance follow up.
- Assess the utility of different imaging modalities in acute and chronic aortic dissection.
- Compare the most recent FDA approved devices for the treatment of aortic dissection including branched endovascular stent grafts.
- Identify possible future directions in endovascular therapy for Aortic dissection.
- Evaluate past, present, and future clinical research in Aortic Dissection, including clinical trials.
- Discuss the management of acute aortic dissection complications such as malperfusion.
- Outline the management of chronic aortic dissection such as aneurysmal dilatation of chronic aortic dissection.
