Dr. Fernando Vega Rasgado is a graduate of the Escuela Superior de Medicina del IPN. He is a specialist in General Surgery from the ISSSTE and UNAM, with a Master’s degree in Science specializing in pharmacology from the IPN. He serves as a professor in both undergraduate and postgraduate programs. Additionally, he is a member of various national and international medical societies. Dr. Vega Rasgado has authored the book “Fundamentals of Phlebology” up to its 4th edition and contributed chapters to other international books in the field of Phlebology. He has published numerous scientific articles in national and international journals and has been a speaker at various national and international courses and congresses. Dr. Vega Rasgado is the founder and former president of the Mexican Academy of Phlebology and Lymphology and the College of Phlebology J.R. Tournay. He is also the founder and CEO of the Mexican Institute of Phlebology. Currently, he is completing a Master’s degree in Transpersonal Psychology. He coordinates diploma courses in Phlebology and Lymphology, as well as Vascular Venous Ultrasound, and serves as a professor in the International Diploma Program in Phlebology. Previously, he held positions as the Director of ISSSTE in Salina Cruz and Chief of Surgery at the Ambulatory Surgery Center.

Egresado de la Escuela Superior de medicina del IPN, especialista en Cirugía General por el ISSSTE y la UNAM, Maestro en Ciencias con especialidad en farmacología por el IPN, Profesor de pre y postgrado. Miembro de diversas Sociedades Médicas Nacionales e Internacionales. Ha publicado el Libro: Fundamentos de Flebología hasta su 4ta Edición. Y participado con capítulos en otros libros Internacionales de la especialidad de Flebología. Ha publicado diversos artículos científicos en revistas Nacionales e Internacionales. Ponente en diversos cursos y Congresos Nacionales y en el Extranjero. Fundador y Expresidente de la Academia Mexicana de Flebología y Linfología y del Colegio de Flebología J.R. Tournay. Fundador y Director General del Instituto Mexicano de Flebología. Actualmente Terminando la maestría en psicología Transpersonal. Coordinador de los Diplomados de Flebología y Linfología, así como de Ultrasonido Vascular Venoso, y Prof. Titular del diplomado Internacional de Flebología. Fue Director del ISSSTE en Salina Cruz jefe de cirugía en el centro de cirugía ambulatoria.

Dr. Alejandro Cabrera is a General Surgeon, focused on the specialty of Phlebology (vein diseases) since 1996.

He received his MD degree from the University of Chile, Valparaiso (1987). He completed his Surgical Residence Program and Master of Surgery, at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Santiago (1988 – 1991). He was Fellow in Health Organization, Boston University, United States (1994) and Fellow in Minimally Invasive Ambulatory Surgery at Veintec Clinic, San Antonio, Texas, United States (2003).

The international Franchise lasted until 2018, when Dr. Cabrera got the official joint ownership of Veintec Brand and System.

Major milestones

In 1997, he performed the first SEPS, Sub-facial endoscopic perforator surgery, to treat insufficient communicating veins and venous ulcers, in Chile.

In 2003, he performed the first Endo Venous Laser treatment, for large varicose veins in Chile, under Ultrasonographic Guidance and Tumescent Local Anesthesia, which replaced traditional surgery, marking a new era in the treatment of this disease in his country.

In 2005 he became a Full Member of the Society of Surgeons of Chile with the Research Trial, “Varicose veins, 1000 cases treated with preservation of the saphenous vein”.

In 2008 he received his Medal of Honor as an International Member of the European Venous Forum in Warsaw, Poland.

In 2010 he was named a Member of the Faculty of the American College of Phlebology, in the United States, being the only Chilean to have obtained this distinction.

In 2013, on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the Veintec Franchise in Chile, it expands throughout the country, founding branches up North and down South of Chile.

In 2015, he obtained the Prochile Award with his “Outpatient Medical Services Export Project”.

He has been a member of several scientific societies, among which are: The Society of Surgeons of Chile, The Chilean Society of Ultrasonography, The American College of Phlebology, The European Venous Forum and the French Society of Phlebology.

Author of the Book “Varicose Veins, A Silent Disease” published in 2013 and author of the Phlebology chapter of Dr. Manuel Fontbote’s Book about Aesthetic Dermatology.

Dr. Cabrera has received and contributed to the training of other Chilean doctors in this specialty and also foreign doctors from Peru, Bolivia, Argentina, Nicaragua, Venezuela and Colombia and has been a visiting professor at the Faculty of Medicine of the Finis Terrae University.

He is currently the Medical Director and developer of the Veintec’s Network of Varicose Veins Clinics in Chile and President of The International Institute of Vein technology in Miami, USA.

As of December 2021, Dr. Cabrera has performed more than 6,000 interventions for varicose veins, being the pioneer and most experienced surgeon in Chile, in minimally invasive procedures for varicose veins, such as Endolaser and Ambulatory Phlebectomy.

Lina M. Vargas, MD, FACS, RPVI is a board-certified vascular surgeon specializing in vascular and endovascular surgery. as well as medical aesthetics.

Dr. Vargas received her medical degree from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana and completed her post-graduate training in Vascular and Endovascular Surgery from the prestigious Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio—where she also completed a Research Fellowship in Cardiac and Vascular Surgery.  Prior to opening her private practice, Lumina Vein & Aesthetic Institute in Windermere, Florida, she held clinical positions at Duke University Medical Center in North Carolina as well as Advent Heath in Orlando, Florida

Dr. Luis Figueroa is a board-certified vascular surgeon with extensive experience treating various vascular conditions. He obtained his medical degree from the prestigious University of Toronto and is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada.

Dr. Figueroa currently practices at the Division of Vascular Surgery at Humber River Hospital, one of Ontario’s largest regional vascular centers. He also provides vascular services at North Toronto Surgical, a private surgical facility that offers high-quality care and personalized attention.

In addition, he is a co-founder and medical director of Innova Vascular, a leading clinic specializing in minimally invasive endovascular procedures.
